Gian Franco Legler

Born in Switzerland, Gian Franco Legler has a fascinating background spanning architecture, interior design and chemical plastics. Legler's early designs still resonate today. His most widely acclaimed design, the Basket Chair (1951), was designed for the Basket Restuarant in Italy. This comfortable stacking chair received the 'good design award' in 1953 from MoMA in New York.
