FDB Møbler L46 - MK155 Mogens Koch - Easy Chair
Mogens Koch
FDB Møbler
In 1947, Mogens Koch designed a light and functionalist sofa as a special commission for Gammel Kjøgegaard, a Danish manor near the town of Køge. The post-war era provided the opportunity and resources for new trends and forms, with simple functionalism serving as a cornerstone for many of the period's designers. The Mogens Koch sofa series stands as a remarkable testament to this movement in design culture. A lightweight sofa with gently curved armrests, placed firmly on a distinct frame. The visible frame is a hallmark of Mogens Koch’s design philosophy. Unlike lower-quality furniture that often conceals its frame behind upholstery, Koch sought an honest display of craftsmanship.
